Accessible & Engaging! Two values we practice at the Topsfield Fair and at our onsite programs. Below, learn more about our interactive exhibit activities, as well as this week happenings onsite at Rest-Stop-Ranch.
“Hi! I’m new here… I’m noticing most of these Flower Barn exhibits say Do Not Enter or Do Not Touch… this exhibit is different? It’s like a 180!” ~ New Flower Barn Volunteer
Our Topsfield Fair Flower Barn Exhibit is available now, through Monday, October 12.
1. Stop & Rest
A 2-person bench, along with 1 table and 2 chairs is available for fair guests to stop for a moment and catch their breath.
2. Touch & Feel
Respectful play is encouraged! The water fountain is engaged by 80% of fair guests strolling by… children and adults love to feel their hands in the water… some children try to catch a fish with their hands! One plant section we’ve designed to be especially fun to explore textures, forms, and weights of plant structures.
3. Learn & Ask
At the table, literature is available about our nonprofit, as well as our exhibit partners. Rest-Stop-Ranch volunteers are available most days at various times to listen and answer questions.
4. Seek & Find
20 plants are labeled: Trees, Shrubs, Perennials, and Annuals. Fresh Cut Lumber, Arborvitae, a type of Cedar, smells wonderful!
5. Art in the Garden
Slow River Art Studio students will be modeling plein air painting and sketching.
