Spiritual Care (1-on-1) at Rest-Stop-Ranch
I’m an interfaith chaplain. In these sessions I listen while you talk about what caregiving is doing to you, for as long or as short a time as you need.

Meet Chaplain Mary E. MacDonald
Since January 2016, Rest-Stop-Ranch has offered dedicated one-on-one support for caregivers. These sessions are facilitated by Mary E. MacDonald, a community-based interfaith chaplain.
What is an Interfaith Chaplain?
An interfaith chaplain doesn’t preach or promote any one religion. Mary works with people of every faith tradition and people with none. She holds an M.A. in Pastoral Ministry.
What Does 1-on-1 Spiritual Care Provide?
A session is time that is about you, not the person you care for.
- Focused Listening: Mary listens to whatever you want to share, emotional or spiritual. The aim is to lighten the load of caregiving.
- Flexible Duration: Sessions are 20, 40, or 60 minutes. Mary also leads private 2-hour Respite Retreats in the gardens.
- Please Note: This session is a supportive spiritual practice and is not mental health counseling or psychotherapy.

- Where: Meetings take place at the Caretaker’s Cottage at our home in Topsfield, MA, or remotely by phone/Zoom.
