Mums the Word Event for Vets and Families, 11/11, 10a – 2p

Dawn Illumines Fall Foliage in Our Garden
Dawn Illumines Fall Foliage in Our Garden
Karl and I are welcoming veterans and military families on Veterans Day, Saturday, 11/11, 10am – 2pm. Barb Bodengraven, a local Topsfield author, will assist us as an expressive writing facilitator.
– Experience and enjoy our wheelchair-accessible garden (now blooming: chrysanthemums).
– Enjoy a picnic in the garden (carry-in; carry-out; a wheelchair-accessible port-a-potty is available on-site).
– Participate voluntarily in one of three therapeutic writing activities (facilitators and materials will be available):
A. Write a Peace Prayer (prayers and intentions will be hung on the Roses & Kitchen Garden trellis fence throughout the holiday season).
B. Write to “Purge and Merge” (write the difficult stuff down, crumple it up, throw it onto the Pear Tree Patio grill, witness it disintegrate, then celebrate with a bubbly non-alcoholic drink of your choice, a lighter, brighter self, thriving with friends doing the same thing).
C. Write a love, hope, or promise letter to your self or someone special.
This is an outdoor event and will happen rain or shine, warm or chilly. Please dress with layers for the weather.
All are Welcome, Free-of-Charge. Walk-ins, Wheel-ins welcome. RSVP appreciated as we have limited parking. Contact me, Mary, at 978-887-4202. A flyer is attached below. Please share.
Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
~ Mary
