Blue HeronMiss Honey and I took an evening stroll in the Meditation Garden last night and startled two blue herons on our approach. We disrupted their fishing spot in the Lily Pond. The birds flew in opposite directions – one landed on the fallen tree you see above, the other flew back towards the fresh water marsh, where I suspect they may have a nest. Miss Honey and I observed the bird observing us. Then we heard a loud SPLASH! When we looked closely, we saw the head of a beaver swimming away. It was good to get outside and meet the animals in their habitat.
