HORT Volunteers: Susan, Janet, Bruce, Jean D, Michelle, Edith, Jean P, MaryHorticultural volunteers came together from 9am – 11am today for a volunteer orientation to our new “Get Dirty in the Garden” program. We met in the Caretaker’s Cottage for introductions and a review of mission, vision, values, best practices, rules, policies, and volunteer handbook. Then, we had a physical tour, practiced filling bird feed feeders, and learned tool techniques. We will begin three hour weekly sessions next week, March 21. The weekly program will run through November 21, 2019.
