Karl built the Pear Tree Patio Espalier Trellis over 2 days. Sunday, 8/26, he created the frame using 4×4’s, 2×4’s, and 1×1’s. He dug 6 holes for the 4×4’s, and cemented them in place. The frame became set over 3 days, 8/26-8/29. Then, this Wednesday,8/29, he finished the project with the horizontal wooden supports. We may use wire supports in the future, but we like the look of the wood while we are beginning to train the branches to the frame.
The finished project looks beautiful from all approaches and gives people a sense of enjoying an outdoor dining room. The trellis offers additional privacy for diners, while allowing visibility through the trellis for viewing flora, fauna, and people outside the “room.”
Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
~ Mary
