A Seat in the SunA still, sunny morning soothes my soul on my first morning back from Syracuse, NY. I spent a few days with my father there. We saw the movie Zero Dark Thirty, Oscar-nominated for Best Picture and Best Actress in a Leading Role. Though difficult and deeply disturbing to watch human torture at the start, the commitment of the leading character, Maya, to capture the country’s bad guy, is inspiring throughout the film. Her focus and determination are unwavering and steadfast, leading the team to their goal. She sheds a tear at the end of the film, which I felt for her, for the team of fighters, for the reality of war, for the emotional and spiritual healing of a nation, for an end to war.
Once again one with the dust…
Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
