Living with Long-Term Illness: Reflections from our family story
My father returned to his home in Syracuse yesterday. He was three weeks with us and had expected heart valve surgery this month. He was disappointed to return home without it (He was told that the new pace maker implant improved his heart function to a level that disqualified him from the study in which he had previously been accepted). He will return at the end of summer for another valve check-in. Being again in limbo, waiting and wondering, while not feeling any better, is frustrating for him. He’s doing great with keeping a positive attitude and is planning on taking care of a few things back home before he returns again to Boston.
Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
~ Mary
