Morning Report: Bullfrogs & Beavers

Last night we observed a bullfrog chorus and the foraging of our local beaver gang. Who knew? Beavers eat water lilies! Beavers are herbivores, they can live up to twenty-four years in the wild, and females can weigh up to fifty-five pounds. We saw one beaver who matched this description, as she swam among the lily pads and munched. She was three to four feet long!
We are also learning more about the uses of lavender. In addition to its soothing stress-reduction benefits, it serves as an insect repellant. Other great essential oils for repelling summer mosquitos include: tea tree, lemon, lemongrass, and eucalyptus.
Our next Sunday Stroll and Memory Café is this coming Sunday, July 10, 11am – 2pm.
Please call ahead if you plan to come (978-887-4202). We host this event each month, April – October, rain or shine.
