Morning Report: Accessible Gardens Turn One!

Accessible Gardens' Birthday Cake
Accessible Gardens’ Birthday Cake
Karl and I celebrated our first year of accessible gardens with family and friends this weekend. The Topsfield Bakeshop took my drawing of the gardens and did a fabulous rendering of the design in colored frosting. Our local family and friends walked and wheeled around the MargFMac Front Garden Loop which this year featured the religious symbols of the Christian Cross and Jewish Menorah, as well as the Memorial Wall we featured last year: We Remember the Lights of Our Loved Ones. The Menorah table featured a traditional Chanukah table cover and linens woven by Palestinian women – contributed by our neighbors Jackie and Eddy White and Topsfield Trinity Episcopal priest Rev. Jo Barrett. Thirteen of our thirty guests joined us for a Peace Prayer before enjoying the holiday lights walk and wheel. Special intentions were offered for family members present and passed on, as well as the victims of gun violence in Newtown, CT on Friday.
Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
~ Mary
