Lilacs and Tree Peonies! Wow!

“We’re growing the plants to meet the people,” I explained to the two guides from the Arnold Arboretum, Colin and Chris, when they visited last Thursday to see our wheelchair-accessible lilac collection. I sat in a chair between two lilac plants and demonstrated how the Lilac Sunday bloom could reach to my face, even if I were unable to lean my torso towards the flower… which is the case for some of our guests.

The tree peonies have started to bloom. The pink, burgundy, and white are our oldest plants. Six more babies include the gorgeous fuchsia color.
