Halloweekend 2025: Gratitude, Grief & Advocacy

3 pumpkins decorated with pom pom hair and plastic eyes (they see, but are voiceless).Happy Halloween, All Souls & All Saints! November is National Family Caregivers Month. We honor current caregivers and remember with love caregivers who have passed on.

What is still really scary?
Dementia caregivers remain at a higher risk for personal health impacts. As age increases, so do chronic system imbalances. As long-term caregiving continues, so does a level of chronic stress, which often exacerbates chronic system imbalances. Caregivers often prioritize care of a loved-one over their own health-care followup appointments. Caregiver health risks increase if personal self-care is neglected.

Caregiver education & Respite moments are critical
Caring for caregivers at Rest-Stop-Ranch remains our top priority. Donor-supported services (free-of-charge) are facilitated by clinically-trained professionals, and include:

  • Support Session 20 or 50 minutes, by appointment
  • Respite Retreat, 2-hours, by appointment
  • Memory Cafe, 2nd Saturday, 10am – 12pm, RSVP required
  • Open Garden hours, Open Cottage hours, by appointment
