Accessible Lilac Festival, Street-side InvitationWe hosted a first impromptu Accessible Lilac Festival on Saturday, May 21, 12pm – 4pm. This social experiment was inspired by the seven lilac shrubs (planted in 2014) all being in bloom, along the wheelchair-accessible MargFMac Front Garden Loop (0.1 mile). Attendance was low (our friends Jensi and Marc came by late in the afternoon), and visibility was high (on the street).
Promotion for the pop-up event included a blog post on Friday: Morning Report: Lilac Festival Weekend, a mention in my monthly e-newsletter, and street-side signage as well as our physical presence at our informational street-side kiosk during the event.
