Horticultural Therapy Week begins today, March 17, and runs through Saturday, March 23. In addition to posting something fun each day, I invite any interested volunteer to join us Thursday, March 21, 9am – 12pm, for our new “Get Dirty in the Garden” Volunteers/Horticultural Therapy weekly program. We have three groups: Observers, Learners and Teachers — you are welcome to join any of these groups. We are asking learners and teachers to commit to the work group most weeks, March 21 – November 21.
Yesterday, two house wrens were attempting to build a nest in our screen porch flower boxes. It would have been the perfect location for them – if we allowed them to continue! Instead, we encouraged them to seek building outside – hopefully, they will find one of the many bird homes we have installed for their use!
