Thanks to our friends at the International Lilac Society Convention, Kent, OH, USA, May 2-4, 2025 ~ for recognizing our work to make 50 lilac shrubs wheelchair-accessible along an ADA-friendly hardscape trail. Guests living with quadriplegia may smell many lilac flowers at nose-height mid-trail. Enabling this joyful sensory experience requires a sensitive pruning touch by our volunteer garden crew. As these flowers expire, we will trim the shrub all-around, as is best practice for pruning lilac shrubs directly after bloom-time.
