Accessible Rose Rodeo Begins!

John Davis Hardy Canadian Rose
John Davis Hardy Canadian Rose
John Davis, a hardy Canadian rose, is the first to bloom along the MargFMac Front Garden Loop (0.1 mile) wheelchair-accessible trail. Today I’m mailing in our membership form to the New England Rose Society, so we can belong to a group of savvy rose growers with lots more experience and know-how that we currently possess. Karl and I will first meet the group at the Rose Show on June 25 at the Tower Hill Botanic Garden, Boylston, MA. This event is Open to the Public, and hosted in a wheelchair-accessible room.
Our climbing rose collection contains 16 rose plants (8 survivors since 2010, and 8 new plantings in 2017). 14 rose plants are wheelchair-accessible.
Our Rose Rodeo is partly funded by Peggy Roy, in loving memory of my mom, Margaret Fraser MacDonald, who considered Peggy one of her best friends. Peggy is the only friend who visited Margaret in the Boston area during her final months of life. Thank you, Peggy!
Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
~ Mary
