Remembering Mom: The Longest Night, 2021

Candlelights, at the Welcome Area
Candlelights, at the Welcome Area
On Tuesday, December 21, from Dusk to Dawn, we will shine the light for all dealing with dementia or degenerative illness. We lost my mom, Margaret Fraser MacDonald, to FTD*, 12/24/08. We remember deceased dementia care-partners. We support dementia care-partners living, surviving, and thriving. We honor, sing and dance with, all people now living with memory, behavioral and/or physical changes.

From Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH website:
December 21st is the winter solstice, the longest night of the year. On this night we will shine our lights together to diminish the darkness and illuminate a path towards a world without Alzheimer’s. We are filled with hope for the new year and invite you to join us for a virtual gathering. Together we will light our luminaries, enjoy a musical performance, honor those living with dementia as well their caregivers, and remember all of those we have lost.

“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”
– Desmund Tutu
