Karl, Miss Honey, and I managed our bit of the forest in rain, snow, and sun this weekend. We removed brush and forest debris from the back of the cottage to create a clear, more open environment. This was a significant burning weekend; it marks the beginning of the transformation of our back woods area, which we expect to manage over the next few years to include a small band stand in the foreground of the Lily Pond. We plan to document this transformation (as we did the MargFMac Front Garden Loop four-year project 2009 – 2012) and publish a second volume of “Early Gardens at Rest.Stop.Ranch.”
