Chakra 4: Green: Heart, Love; Pink Tulips and Cream Pansies in the Ornamental Tree & Shrub Garden (the center of the Loop)We received ten yards of compost on Wednesday morning, which we will use to enrich the Cut Flower and Kitchen Garden soil this spring. I filled a few buckets with this and planted mostly pansies (a hardy annual) representing the seven chakra colors, which I placed in the seven garden areas along the 0.1 mile wheelchair-accessible MargFMac Front Garden Loop. The containers are brightening up the early spring garden, bringing a color foundation to gardens still days and weeks away from their full spring glory. In Eastern spiritual traditions, the seven chakras represent wholeness and balance within a body-mind-spirit. I found it pretty neat that the spirit of the seven chakras married fairly well with the seven garden areas we’ve created. I attach thumbnail photos of the other six container designs. Please read the captions to notice the fun parallels between the chakra colors and each garden’s functionality.
Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
