It’s the first day of Spring, and the first day of our “Get Dirty in the Garden” 2020 Program. We expect Collette, John, Estelle, and Linda to join us today. All horticulture projects today will comply with 6ft physical distancing. All participants will be wearing their own garden gloves and drinking from their own water bottles!
Collette will be checking on the emerging 30,000 bulbs: 10,000 were planted in 2018 in memory of her beloved spouse and the father of their three children ~ all young women in their teens/twenties ~ John Hanlon of Rowley, MA. John, Estelle and Linda will enjoy one of the horticulture projects on the whiteboard list, such as:
- Raking & Cleaning up Garden Beds
- Composting Roses, Tulips & Beds
- Moving Furniture from Storage to the Outdoor Hospitality Spaces
And, when we get totally soaked and freezing, we’ll enjoy retreating at the Caretaker’s Cottage ~ a warm fire and a hot cuppa!
Our Thursday morning horticulture program still has room for volunteers:
– Leaders/Teachers (people able to teach horticulture activities)
– Learners (people able to engage with one of the horticulture activities)
– Observers (people not able to engage with any horticulture activity)
