Ethel volunteered as a plein-air painting guide. She coached Jayna on her painting of a deer. Edith also enjoyed painting a portrait of Roger. Kathleen found the golden egg and won the $1M chocolate bar. The women walked away with an Easter bonnet and fresh bouquet of their choice.
Guests were invited to find seven chakra colored eggs (pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white), all easily accessible on the edges of the gardens. The empty eggs could be turned in at the treats table. Treats included toys, fresh fruit, and candy. Seven garden-themed prizes hung in the trees included bulbs, playing cards, garden gloves, clay pots, twine, wind decorations, and hummingbird feeders. Three additional prizes were accessible on the trellis: garden flags, notepads, and bubbles.
This was a great way to open our 2018 Accessible Gardens season, and we hope to repeat this event next year.
Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
Mary
