This past weekend, Karl and I visited Crotched Mountain’s wheelchair-accessible hiking trails in Greenfield, NH. We hiked the 2-mile Dutton Brook Trail. They describe it as “a loop that winds around an abandoned beaver-built wetland.”
There, we saw an example of U.S. Forest Accessibility Guidelines trail architecture. We saw the standards used there for a forest hiking trail, which we will likely consult as we create accessible trails in our woodland.

Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
