9/11/16 ~ Stroll and Memory Café Summary

Bob and Jeanne enjoy the Koi Pond
Bob and Jeanne enjoy the Koi Pond
Yesterday Karl and I hosted, with the help of two volunteers, seven adults and five children at our Stroll and Memory Café. Jeanne and her dad, Bob, visited again from their homes in Hamilton and Ipswich. When I asked Jeanne for her feedback, she said that what she liked most was the raspberry patch picking with her dad, and added, “I like to see dad respond again. At [the facility] I noticed he was unresponsive. That’s when I knew we had to get out. Just seeing him check his watch [he was concerned about the event’s end-time] is a great sign.”
It was neat to learn from Jeanne, that Bob is a WWII veteran, and a former rocket-scientist! Cool!
Our next Stroll and Memory Café is October 9, 11am – 2pm. Individuals, couples and families are welcome to simply come-as-you-are and do not need to call us. We ask facilities, groups over 5, and professionals interested in seeing our program, to please call ahead.
Moving forward with a listening heart,
vision, inquiry, and action,
~ Mary
